Diapason (2021). Object 80 x 80 x 80 cm. Folded metal and flexible stone
“Diapasón” is inspired by the metal device, in the shape of a fork, used to tune musical instruments. Its function is to balance the sound with the sine waves that are transmitted in the air. The lack of tuning between musical notes works as a metaphor for the lack of balance in Nature.
In Diapasón, people can swing with a movement similar to the vibration of the earth’s tectonic layers, thanks to the appropriate thickness of metal plates covered with flexible stone.
